The 7th August 2014 saw drivers from far and wide converge on the newly refurbished Bury Metro track for the second annual memorial meeting in honour of legendary Race Controller Roger Wood. Roger’s selflessness and enthusiasm to almost single handily maintain and run the club through very testing times is the reason we were able to commemorate the great man this Sunday past as without his dedication Bury Metro Radio Car Club would simply no longer exist.
120 drivers booked into the meeting travelling as far as 200 miles to support the event of which the proceeds would be donated to Roger’s charity of choice, The Dogs Trust. Drivers in attendance were split across 2wd and 4wd classes as well as a heat of vintage cars including a circa 1990 Traxxas TRX1 beautifully converted into the now standard mid motor configuration by Mr Wood himself and piloted by Son and local Stu-perstar, Stu Wood.
